Dr Michael Ifesanwo

MBChB, FRACGP, FARGP, FSCCA, Dip Skin Cancer, Dip Dermatology, Dip Child Health, Dip Dermoscopy, Dip Family Medicine, Dip HIV Management

Dr Michael is an experienced clinician of over 18 years.
He did his primary training in Nigeria where he worked in general practice for a while, then migrated to South Africa where he worked and started his family medicine training. He relocated to Australia in 2009 with his family and worked in Ipswich Hospital till 2011 after which he moved to Laidley where he had worked as a general practitioner and also a senior medical officer to Laidley Hospital.

He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of general practitioner and also a fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

He is involved in medical education through the supervision of registrars and teaching of medical students from University of Queensland during their rural placements. He is also a tutor for the Advanced Clinical Certificate in Dermoscopy with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

 He is an empathic, dedicated and a patient centered practitioner that is committed to evidence based holistic and safe practice. He established Country Doctors Practice, GP and Skin Cancer Clinic in March 2018 with the aim of providing holistic care and improving health care service delivery in the Lockyer Valley area.

Dr Zara Ashraf


Dr Zara graduated and completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2012 from University of Karachi, Pakistan. Since her move to Australia in 2014, Dr Zara worked mostly in Queensland hospitals with experience across a range of specialties including emergency medicine. She enjoys the diversity of work in general practice and feels rewarded when she gets to know her patients and gains their trust.

Her interest includes women and children health, antenatal and postnatal care, mental health, chronic diseases management, preventive healthcare including weight management, indigenous health and immunisations.

Outside work, she enjoys travelling, gardening and spending time with her family.



Dr Ahamed Mustaq 


Dr Mustaq is an experienced clinician with more than 20 years of working experience and 3 years of travelling experience who wished it was the other way around. As a doctor he started his journey in India and then moved to UK, Ireland and finally to Australia more than 10 years ago. He has worked in various hospitals in and around Brisbane and joined Country Doctors Practice in April 2021. His experience have taken him into emergency departments, general medicine, ICU, paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Surgery and general practice.

He is well trained to deal with emergencies and has special interests in paediatrics, indigenous health and mental health. He is excited about this move to Laidley and looking forward to a long standing relationship with the Lockyer Valley community.

Throughout the years, Dr Mustaq has found pleasure in helping people and says he does not have the answers to every mystery in the world but he is here to help you navigate through complexities.
He is an avid soccer player, and also has keen interest in stock market, personal finance and travelling.

Dr Thushari Attanayake


Dr Thushari is an experienced General Practitioner and a Medical officer. She worked as a trained medical officer in Anaesthesia/ICU for many years. She also has experience working in Children Hospital Emergency Service and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

She has a special interest in Women's health, Children's health, and Chronic Disease Management. She is a dedicated Doctor who always strive to serve the Community with a friendly and caring attitude.

Dr Afshan Hammad

MBBS, Dip RANZCOG, Dip Child Health

Dr Afshan completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2008 from Dow University of Health Science, Pakistan. She moved to Australia in 2014 and has worked in various hospitals of Queensland and Tasmania. She has completed her Sydney Child Health program from University of Sydney and obtained her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2021. 

Dr Afshan is passionate about caring for people of all ages. She has a special interest in Women’s health, Antenatal care, Chronic disease management, Indigenous Health, Mental health amongst other areas of General Practice. 

In her spare time, Dr Afshan enjoys spending time with her two kids and her husband.
